HOT vs. NOT

Hey y'all!! SO sorry I haven't been blogging in the longest time but school has gotten to me and I have been swamped. Anyways, today I will be telling ya'll about what's in and what's not in! I just recently got the summer fashion issue from Bazaar magazine and I saw a few things in there that I might tell y'all.

      The first thing of HOT vs. NOT are shoes. The hot new trend for shoes this Summer are not so high wedges, like last year, and strappy sandals. In the recent fashion magazines I have received in the mail, I have seen a lot of sandals with straps all across the top and around the ankle. And for the most part, they have all either been bold print or metallic. Now, for the wedges, last year sky high wedges were very in and everybody loved them, including me! In a few magazines and runway shows, the wedges I have seen have been shorter in height and platform straight across. I actually really like both of these trends and plan on wearing them both this summer! Well, until next time! XOXO, Katie.

Finally!

Hey girls! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday! I am off from school today for Good Friday and my mom and I went out shopping. I saw this beautiful bubble necklace that everyone seems to have. At first I didn't want to get it because everyone has it! But I decided to hop onto the bandwagon and buy one. I purchased the white one so I could wear it with many different things! You can basically wear this with everything. Either dress it up or play it casual and it will be stylish.

Patterns Galore!

Hey fashionistas! I'm here today to sort of continue on my blog from yesterday. I talked about the trends of this Spring and what would be in right now. Well, I got a new Elle magazine today in the mail and one thing I saw a ton of was patterns. I saw patterns everywhere!

Stripes is a pattern that I saw A LOT in my magazine!

Checkered patterns were very big in the magazine! Louis Vuitton had some of the cutest checkered clothing items!

And by far my favorite out of all of them is the floral trend! I love floral prints, big and small, so much I could wear them everyday!

Also I saw an abundance of leather incorporated into all of these patterns. From leather stripes to leather floral patterns, I can definitely see leather being a BIG thing this season!

Spring/Summer 2013

Hello fellow fashionistas, it's Katie here with your daily dose of what's HOT and what's not in fashion right now!! So spring 2013 has just begun and the weather will be warming up pretty soon so that means lighter clothing and showing more skin. The first thing that will be HOT this Spring/Summer season is going to be cropped clothing. Ankle trousers and cropped shirts are most definitely a trend this season along with leather. YES, leather is a big trend this season and you will see it floating around in magazines, stores and on the streets. I have already seen it in quite a few magazines like Bazaar, Nylon, and Elle, just to name a few. Something else you will see around is paneling galore! Designers from Phillip Lim to Stella McCartney took on this wonderful trend! Monochrome and thick stripes are also expected to be seen this season all thanks to  Michael Kors, Jason Wu, and Oscar de la Renta. Last but not least, short suites are going to be hot! Forget long pants and skirts and start thinking shorts! Michael Kors and Tory Burch gave us some inspiration by leaving the trousers behind and going for something more casual but still formal. Who knew that short suits would be a thing?!

Where have I been?!

Hey guys, long time no see! I'm so sorry I haven't been blogging in a long time but to be totally honest, school has definitely kept me busy! I know, I know that there are really no good excuses but school has been really tough this year! I promise I will be posting more but please bear with me if I don't post consistently.

Thrift store finds!!

I went to the salvation army this past weekend and didnt find much but I did find this wonderful mesh, square scarf that is navy blue with sunflowers! I also found an Ann Taylor high-waisted, shin length skirt! I absolutely love it and it is so wearable!

Sorry I haven't been podting lately! I am currently in Washington D.C for a group at my school! It has been so much fun and tomorrow will be so much fun too. This trip has been really hectic and I haven't had time to do anything! So please enjoy this picture I took with my friend earlier today at the Lincoln Memorial!!

OOTD: 1/21/13

Today's outfit it a very simple but cute look. I put a sheer, cheetah print button down under this coral sweater and tucked the ends into my jeans and rolled the sleeves up over my sweater sleeves. I also pulled the collar out and over the sweater. I wore this outfit to go out and pick up a few things for my Washington D.C. trip and eat lunch with my family.

Thriftin'

Hey guys!!

I recently went to my local thrift store and found a ton of cool stuff! The one thing that stood out to me though, was the denim vest I got for four dollars that was originally from Talbots. When I got home I started pairing the vest with some clothing items I already had in my closet and it was a success. Below are some pictures of what I paired with the denim vest! Sorry about the quality...I only have a Nikon Coolpix.

Here the denim vest is paired with a green and white tunic from Target and some leggings from Cotton On.

The vest in these two pictures is paired with a brown and black maxi skirt from Forever 21. I am not wearing a shirt under the vest because there is no need to unless you want to.

I put the denim vest over a floral spring dress from Charlotte Russe and I put a simple brown belt around the waist to cinch it.
